Mercedes-Maybach Unveils $155M Private Members’ Superyacht Club for 2029 Launch
Mercedes-Maybach debuts Beyond Horizons, a 508-foot members' superyacht. 300 co-owners, fractional access, launching 2029. Invite-only.
Mercedes-Maybach is set to bring its signature luxury to the sea with the proposed launch of its Maybach Ocean Club. An invite-only private members superyacht concept that is set to reimagine yachting, offering a highly curated lifestyle community beyond traditional asset ownership.
Developed in collaboration with luxury yachting company Splendid Sea, the idea was first unveiled at the 2025 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The Maybach Ocean Club Superyacht
Facilitating this club project is a proposed 508-foot (155-metre), 15,000 GT superyacht ‘Beyond Horizons’. Designed to function as a floating private members club, Mercedes describes it as a “rarefield sanctuary at sea”—a place for retreats, leisure, and connection.
Rather than full-scale ownership or short-term charter, the Maybach Ocean Club aims to operate on a fractional co-ownership model at scale. Just 300 “co-owners” will be invited to join, each granted access to the yacht for several weeks per year. The aim is exclusivity and a fair balance of access across the members.
The yacht’s layout reflects this equal vision, with 30 identically designed balcony suites and a range of shared spaces. Highlights include an infinity pool, expansive sun decks, panoramic lounges, and a generous beach club area. In total, the yacht, if built, will offer 50,000 square feet of deck space.

Brand DNA & Design
Working alongside Mercedes-Maybach to bring yacht-specific knowledge and consultancy is the German design team at Dölker + Voges, helping translate Mercedes’ automotive identity and ideas into a yachting setting.
Early concept renderings present a striking and timeless exterior, while the refined interiors, according to Mercedes, are intended to evoke “calm conversation and quiet sophistication.” Subtle nods to branding, including a Maybach signet at the bow.
Sustainability also plays a key role in the intended project, with plans including a clean-fuel propulsion system and eco-conscious materials.
A Floating Community
The Maybach Ocean Club is said to ultimately develop a network of like-minded individuals, combining leisure and time at sea with high-level networking. Discussions are also underway for a 230-foot (70-metre) support vessel, dedicated to toys, tenders, and additional crew.
The project remains in the early stages, with plans for operation starting in 2029. Splendid Sea is reportedly in talks with shipyards, with build contract terms expected once sufficient member commitments are secured.
Registration of interest is open, but entry remains strictly invite-only with a “discerning and carefully curated selection process” designed to ensure the Maybach Ocean Club remains exclusive.
