This Italian Superyacht Does 30 Knots and Still Has a Two-Level Beach Club
The new FAST50 aims to bridge the gap between high-performance cruising and comfortable superyacht living.
During a time when the superyacht market continues to launch bigger and better, as well as a range of explorer platforms, Baglietto makes an exciting case for the return of the fast superyacht.
From its facilities in La Spezia, the Italian shipyard has launched the first hull in its new FAST50 series, a 164’ (50m) all-aluminum flagship yacht that combines a top speed of 30 knots with the interior volume, comfort, and lifestyle features more commonly attributed to larger yachts.

A Modern Take On A Classic
Designed by Francesco Paszkowski, with naval architecture by Pierluigi Ausonio and the contemporary interiors co-developed with Margherita Casprini, the FAST50 draws inspiration from some of the builder’s most celebrated fast yachts.
Its low-slung profile, aggressive lines, and automotive-inspired details straight away signal speed. Integrated air intakes, exhaust-inspired stern fairleads, and a bespoke “Porsche Chalk” hull color further highlight the performance-led aesthetic.
Performance Meets Practicality
Powered by a set of four MTU engines, the FAST50 is said to reach an impressive maximum of 30 knots. But what makes this yacht particularly interesting is how effectively Baglietto has addressed a traditional downside of faster yachts: interior volume and living space. By relocating ventilation systems outside the hull structure, the yard has reclaimed meaningful living space across three full decks.
The yacht features an owner’s suite and a layout with four guest cabins, enhancing usable living space. According to the yard, they have tailored the design “deeply around the owner’s lifestyle.” Other practical features include a shallow-water-friendly draft, perfect for those who enjoy cruising and accessing island chains within the Bahamas and shallower bays of the Mediterranean.

Borrowing T-Line Features
The FAST50 includes several successful design features introduced on the shipyard’s popular T-Line series — also designed by Paszkowski. Most notable is the beach club at the aft, spreading out across two levels and expanded thanks to fold-down bulwarks, creating a larger waterside area.
On the main and upper decks, floor-to-ceiling windows blur the aspect of indoor and outdoor spaces, and Baglietto’s signature ‘cut-out’ hull sides offer panoramic views. For entertainment, the upper deck is ideal with a panoramic dining room, private bow lounge, and a Jacuzzi. And at the stern, there is a flooding garage system which can launch and recover a 23’ (7m) tender.
A New Era Of Performance Yachting
Typically, owners who choose speed have often had to accept compromises in volume, guest comfort, and outdoor living, but the FAST50 suggests these trade-offs are no longer necessary. Its 30-knot performance, beach-club living, generous accommodation, and expansive social areas introduce the FAST50 line as a new and exciting breed of fast yacht.
