The shoulder months of May and September are the best for exploring the Amalfi Coast by yacht. The weather is warm and sunny, and you can profit from the beaches. Most importantly, the towns aren’t crowded yet. It matters because the Amalfi Coast is one of Italy’s most visited destinations. Its most popular gems, Positano and Amalfi, are basically big villages with narrow roads that get congested. 

Peak summer season (June to August) is also a fantastic time to go to Amalfi for the best weather, swimming, beach club leisure, and snorkeling. Just be prepared to navigate the crowds and reserve everything in advance to avoid overbooking.

September to October (late season)

September is one of the best times to explore the Amalfi Coast on a yacht. The peak season has ended, the weather is still great, the sea is warm and calm, and the winds are manageable. You can do everything that you would do during the summer, but without the rush and hassle. 

By October, the weather cools down a bit, but the region is still at its most charming. That’s a great time for hiking, getting into the local culture, and embarking on gastronomic tours. 

Late April to May (spring bloom)

Starting from late April, you’re getting a nice weather window for Amalfi Coast cruising. While the winds can be a bit unpredictable and there’s a chance of spring showers, the coast generally receives lots of sunshine. Spring bloom is the primary reason to visit in late April and May. The bougainvillea flowers on the picture-perfect streets of the Amalfitan towns, the scent of lemons on the hiking trails, and the green hills are a visual feat. It’s a fantastic time to explore the towns without the crowds, enjoy sunset dinners on the restaurant terraces, and try the local products, such as limoncello, Cetara anchovies, and delizia al limone dessert. 

Winter in Amalfi

The Amalfi Coast hibernates in winter. From November to March, most tourist establishments stay closed. The sea can be rough, and the weather is highly unpredictable.
