This Sleek 197-Foot Superyacht Concept Has a Private Owner’s Deck — and Design Cues From Japanese Ink Painting
Aeri Studio’s Aeon challenges traditional yacht layout with configurable living spaces and Japanese art.
As yacht owners increasingly demand spaces that adapt to changing lifestyles, Paris-based design house Aeri Studio is ticking the boxes with its 197’ (60m) concept that puts flexibility, privacy, and wellbeing at the heart.
Named Aeon, the new motor yacht concept offers multiple layout options, Japanese-inspired interiors, and a design philosophy intended to deepen the connection between those on board and the sea around them.
Developed by studio founder and designer Julien Cadro, the project introduces an alternative vision for future yacht ownership — one where living spaces evolve around individual preferences rather than tradition and convention.

Connection To The Water
One of Aeon’s defining features is its distinctive exterior profile. Instead of dramatic tiered setbacks between decks, each level recedes only slightly from the one below, creating a series of generous outdoor terraces encouraging movement throughout the yacht.
The result is a dynamic profile characterized by sweeping lines and sculpted surfaces — one that simultaneously increases usable exterior space. Large open decks, broad walkways, and uninterrupted views reinforce the feeling of openness and allow guests to remain connected to the sea.
A Yacht That Adapts
Recognizing that no two owners use their yachts in the same way, this concept has been designed with multiple configuration possibilities. Layouts can accommodate either five or six guest cabins alongside a variety of entertainment and lifestyle spaces. One arrangement features a dedicated owners’ deck with a private Jacuzzi and an outdoor relaxation area, forming a secluded retreat.
This adaptability feature speaks to an overall shift in the market whereby owners are increasingly expecting their yacht to support extended personal stays, charter operations, and changing day-to-day needs.
Wellness And Social Spaces
Several areas aboard Aeon are devoted to wellbeing and socializing. Firstly, a generous swimming pool can be found at the foredeck, which creates a resort-style area with panoramic views, while at the aft, the yacht features an “open discussion pit” — a sunken lounge area designed to draw people into conversation.
Adjacent to this outdoor gathering space is an enclosed wellness area, further reinforcing the importance of health and recovery within yacht design.

Japanese Art-Inspired Interiors
Below deck, Aeon draws inspiration from Sumi-e, the traditional Japanese discipline of monochrome ink wash painting which is deeply intertwined with Zen Buddhism, requiring a clear mind, patience, and balance.
Hand-painted panels, refined materials, and a palette of warm neutral tones produce interiors that feel calm, contemplative, and understated. The approach avoids visual excess in favor of balance and simplicity.
Tomorrow’s Superyacht Living
According to the Aeri Studio, the relaxed atmosphere inside reflects the fluidity and movement expressed by the exterior. While Aeon remains a concept, Aeri Studio has indicated the project is a platform for further development with shipyards and new-build brokers — yet another exciting glimpse into the future of superyacht design.
